I'm thinking of taking a portable dvd player on holiday to entertain my daughter and was wondering if anyone knows whether they play DVD-R's as standard? Most say CD-R on the description but not DVD-R. One of her favourites to keep her entertained is a home movie and of course having ripped it ourselves its on a DVD-R!

Anyone have any recomendations too?

I ordered some new stylus for my decks from sapphires dj store.The confirmation e-mail said it was a 24 hr delivery as does the online store.Its 8 days now!! & ive just had a 3rd rant down the phone cos they "wont do anything until 10 days pass & they are sure i havent already recieved them & am trying for a refund or another pair"- these are the words of the man in charge!.Is it just me or is this the exact opposite of customer care?.

I have a sky dish on the house that was the previous tenants.
I currently have a freeview box but the reception is quite poor and the signal goes off all the time on various channels even with a booster.
I would like sky, as 1 this would solve my bad signal and 2, I would get more channels to watch.
My only problem is I don't have a landline....
How much would it cost a month if I had to pay out for a sky package and a landline phone???

I get a BF, battery Fault error, I phoned the retailer who are going to charge £120 to call out an engineer and then £50 to replace the battery, id rather tell them where to stick it than pay that.

When I phoned them they said its the battery inside the console but we took the cover off and cant see a battery? anyone know how to fix this or suppose i can google it some more!

ok I have this old movie that my uncle filmed with a camcorder from the early 90s. he filmed this in 1992. he filmed it on a standard I think TDK tape in Im pretty sure it was SLP mode. yeah already the quality of the video is horrible!! crappy camera bad tape and filmed in the worst mode! anyway my aunt transferd the 8mm tdk tape to a regular standard quality VHS tape probably TDK or maxell and of course she recored it in SLP mode. then she gave me the VHS tape, but she says she wanted it back. I dont know why she didnt just give me the little 8mm tape SO at least i could make a decent copy of it my self. like recording it in SP mode and useing a very high quality Sony tape or just record it to dvd. anyway she gave me the tape I really like it alot so i didnt know how to copy hte VHS tape my self, the little 8mm yeah but not the VHS tape, so i took it to a place where they copied it for me. qaulity sucks. so what should i do. transfer it to a blu ray disc for great qaulitythax

So I've been looking for a new turntable that plays 78rpm in addition to the standard speeds 33 and 45.

I was getting ready to buy a Numark TT500, but right at the end this one website www.djdeals.com says "NOTE: We do not recommend this brand of turntable."

So my first reponse to that is, if you wouldnt recommend them, then why in the hell are u selling them?????????????

OK, and so my next question is, why dont they recommend them? Does anyone know anything about Numark??

Every personal review I read said these turntables were very good and sturdy.

Any ideas?????????

My step-father had bought a GPS, its a handheld, so you can take it in the woods or where the hell ever. He could never get it working, he passed away so can't get any help from him. But I just don't have any manuals or directions. I turn it on, and it takes forever locating any signal or satellite to get my position, and never gets any results. How can I get it to locate my position? There a way for me to enter my exact position? I do alot of 4-wheeling and getting lost, and I would like my routes memorized. Anyone who is familiar with handheld GPS's would love to hear what you have to say. IF YOU DON'T KNOW, DON'T ANSWER, please. Thank you

So i hear that almost everywhere in Europe and Asia use 220v electricity....I live in the U.S... is there a device I can take with me that lets me use my electronic devices (hair straightner, cell phone, video camra, etc) there without worrying about frying them!? If yes...what is it called, what brand should i get, where can i find it...and a price range would be helpful too.
