I have a sky dish on the house that was the previous tenants.
I currently have a freeview box but the reception is quite poor and the signal goes off all the time on various channels even with a booster.
I would like sky, as 1 this would solve my bad signal and 2, I would get more channels to watch.
My only problem is I don't have a landline....
How much would it cost a month if I had to pay out for a sky package and a landline phone???

I have been told there is no way to have a sky box without having a landline put in for at least the 1st year, even the free basic model.
Please can somebody clarify this for me. Im very confused....
Some people tell me I dont need a landline, others say I can't have sky without one!!
I would like sky but I haven't got a landline phone and I dont really want to pay for one.

Do you realise that you can get Freeview free of charge without Sky? Buy yourself a satellite receiver and aim it at the Astra 2 satellite. You could use the old sky dish but you'll need a new LNB (that thing sticks out on the dish). You will not need to pay a penny after that.
But do you want Sky just for Freeview or do you want Sky for other Sky contents?

For me the full SKY package with an additional box upstairs with all the movies and all the sports channels costs about £50 per month. A BT phone is about £25 per month depending on calls

Its very expensive and I'm currently looking for other options as I'm sick of the way SKY treat me as a customer.

Richard Bransons, VirginMedia has just been set up which offers TV package, Landline, Broadband and Mobile in one package and I plan to look into that option.

Hi,

you can get the normal sky box ( when they do installation, they don't need a landline for this box).

The box is free!!!!!!!

The amount you pay per month depends on which package you go for, the minimum is £15.95 to the full package £43.

If you want sky+ or sky hd then you will need a landline socket

sky+ box cost £99 plus £60 installation
sky hd ( from sky ) cost £299 plus £60 installation

and you will still havbe to pay per month

Hope this helps wg

hi ali
sky world costs £43 per month this gives you access to all sky, free view and a host of other channels. if you are experiencing reception problems cable is the answer. sky will provide this for you along with all components free. you do not have to pay £43 there are cheaper packages available. best to contact sky. i have tried ntl (now virgin) and believe me sky is your best option. They will also offer you a good deal on landline.
good luck
Gavin

it expenses a marvelous bit because of the fact foxtel provides you to bundles and regrettably you cant p.c.. a single channel out. the main inexpensive deal you will get with sky television is $38 (AU) consistent with month. This includes 30 channels and is the starter p.c... maximum of them are cool yet like 8 of them are junk. for activities it expenses $18 greater for 7 channels, video clips its $sixteen for 6 channels. regrettably the deals arent the final and you cant p.c.. only activities or only sky television programs. So your ultimate determination is to p.c.. the starter and get $38 of frequently american channels yet includes sky television. regrettably no soccer is on television so which you will would desire to do devoid of the main well liked league.
