I'm thinking of taking a portable dvd player on holiday to entertain my daughter and was wondering if anyone knows whether they play DVD-R's as standard? Most say CD-R on the description but not DVD-R. One of her favourites to keep her entertained is a home movie and of course having ripped it ourselves its on a DVD-R!

Anyone have any recomendations too?

Below is a link to a bunch of portable DVD players. Just do Find for DVD-R and there are a couple that play them.

The best portable DVD player i've seen in the market is Nextbase.

Mine is a cheapy no-name, cost me around 60 pounds. Not the lightest or smallest but will play everything including DIVX. Best idea is to take one of your DVDs to the shop and try it.
