My computers dvd drive plays dvd video, and cd sound, but no dvd audio. I have the newest driver installed. What's wrong?

Hi there, I am about to buy an air purifier that I hope to use both in the US and Malaysia, which has 110 V and 240 V, respectively. This air purifier will be used 24/7 so I didn't want to mess around with transformers or converters or whatever is being sold out there. From what I understand, the problem with using a 110V appliance in a 240V output is the motor will have to run twice as fast and wear out faster. So using a 240V appliance in a 110V output would cause the motor to run at half the speed? Could I then buy a 240 V air purifier and safely use it in the US? Perhaps I could run it at the highest setting to get the air changes that I need. I'm not sure if the company can custom install a dual voltage motor in the air purifier. I really appreciate any advice or comments on this. Thanks!

i can't get sound from my speakers.

My Sky digital system seems to have a major dislike to ch4. The pic is stuttery and freezes. It also jumps and shows scrambled pics as well as delays in sound. It does this with E4 sometimes as well. Why? The other channels are fine, its just ch4 and E4.
What can I do?

Its a small sound making machine that I use to fall asleep. It changes the volume on me by itself. It goes from soft to abruptly loud and then back to soft again about every 5 minutes and its annoying the heck out of me. I have to have it to fall asleep and dont know how to fix it... any good handy men out there can walk me through having to fix it? I dont want to buy another one, I just want this one fixed. Why is it so important to Hollywood studios that Americans not be allowed to watch DVD's from Europe, Asia, etc? I had to get an NTSC/PAL region-free player so that I could watch DVD's from anywhere. As long as I purchase real DVD's from real stores I don't think it matters which country I purchase it from. Also some DVD's are only available from the UK and not the US. Am I wrong?

Download a lot of music onto cds for listening to in the car. Many of them are far too long to fit on an average 70/80 min cd r. They are usually essential mixes. Is it possible to buy 120 minute cd r's for burning? And if so where can I fetch these?

I am considering adding an HD-DVD drive to my XBOX 360 but at this point it is currently only good for movies and not games. It is only $200.00 about half the cost of a stand-alone player but if the picture difference is not huge I don't want it.

My husband just left for Afghanistan last week, and he is a huge football fan. Since he won't be able to watch the Super Bowl this year, I want to surprise him and record it on DVD to send to him. We do not have DVR, or a DVD cam corder. I do have a hi-8 Sony HandyCam and a DVD burner on my computer, though. I've heard about software called Dazzle, that you can use to put videos from your cam corder directly on your computer. But, I would like something better than sitting my Sony Handycam in front of the TV for the whole Bowl. I'm willing to spend a little money for this gift. I know it would mean a lot to him and his friends over there, so any suggestions would be great!

I had a digital camera that I didn't pay much for a few years ago, and for Christmas I bought a new one, and paid a lot of money for, but it still consumes batteries like mad.

Am I using the wrong type of battery, or is this a problem with all digital cameras ?
