My mom wants me to sell her cell phone and someone said if I'm taking out the SIM card make sure it's unlocked. My question is, how do I know it's unlocked or not? Do they mean pressing # and unlocking it? or something else?

Aloha! Just make sure the phone is off before removing sim card. Unlocked?---phone is compatible with other carriers i.e using Verizon, T-mobile sim cards on a Cingular branded phone. ACP

unlocked means you can take a chip from another carrier and it will work in that phone. for example...if the phone is from cingular..and you put in a tmobile chip.. it prob wontn work.. most times you have to call the carrier and get an unlock code which takes like two weeks... the way you can tell if its locked is put the other chip in..if it says input code..then you need that code. good luck

YOU CAN'T KNOW IF IT GETS UNLOCKED, WHEN YOU SELL IT MAKE SURE YOU TELL THEM THE PASSWORD AND THERE WONT BE A PROBLEM.
