Hi there, I am about to buy an air purifier that I hope to use both in the US and Malaysia, which has 110 V and 240 V, respectively. This air purifier will be used 24/7 so I didn't want to mess around with transformers or converters or whatever is being sold out there. From what I understand, the problem with using a 110V appliance in a 240V output is the motor will have to run twice as fast and wear out faster. So using a 240V appliance in a 110V output would cause the motor to run at half the speed? Could I then buy a 240 V air purifier and safely use it in the US? Perhaps I could run it at the highest setting to get the air changes that I need. I'm not sure if the company can custom install a dual voltage motor in the air purifier. I really appreciate any advice or comments on this. Thanks!

You will need a transformer...they're cheap and worth the money.
Your purifier won't work properly on a 110 circuit.

NO, you cannot use the 240v air purifier in the US. There will be not enough power to run the purifier. You will have to buy a 2-way converter which converts 120v - 240v, and visa versa.

The plug won't fit!! You can buy a power converter to use that will allow you to run it anywhere, just check online
