i can't get sound from my speakers.
i have recently reformated my pc and now i cannot get sound out of the speakers. every time i go into the control panel it says no sound device. help!
can i download one?

The same thing happened to me. I went onto my systems website and downloaded the driver.

I reformatted my drive awhile ago, I have this vague memory that the default setting for the sound is off / mute. Try Start / All Programs / Accessories / Entertainments and open the volume control. Untick any boxes.

Oh dear oh dear. You should not format your hard drive as you loose all your drivers, did you make a back up disc, whats that I hear you ask.
Basically you now have to find what your computer has in it and then find all the drivers. I bet you will not get them all.
Have you got an oh sh1t disc.
Bet you do not do that again!!!
