With the next generation of DVD players and media coming out, i feel were up for a battle like there was with Betamax and VHS.

I was wondering what the main differances are between the two and which is more worth investing in.

Can anyone reccomend a decent magnification and/or brand that I should look for when purchasing binoculars? I want something inexpensive and compact that I can take to football games to see the players from the crappy seats that I am able to afford (ha ha ha) :-)

I'm tired of paying for basic cable every month for channels that are already FREE, just so I can get good reception!

I'm attempting to put LED's on the top level of a shelf that to make it look more interesting, the problem is that for a power source, (the few ways I have seen them done) are always battery packs.
Is there a way that instead of having to perpetually replace batteries, just wire the LEDs so its powered by a household socket? Any input would be great im pretty new to this LED stuff. Thanks!

i want to be able to tunr stuff on and off from the comfort of my desk, like my fan, cofee machene, tv, whatever, how would i start this? im slightly into networking, and heavy into electronics and computer hardware, something that would take visual basic apps would be awesome as its the only computer language i know, kinda, but not needed, just flip stuff on and off, a dimmer would be nice. also, on a side note, i was at a friends house, we lost contact, but his cealing fan and light thing had a wireless RF remote, does anyone know whare to get those?

Up to recently, my household had 5 makes of mobile phone, not one that can share a charger, usb or headphone.
We decided to use one make only to eliminate the clutter.

I suppose this applies to gaming consoles as well (eg: SP2 cannot save SP1 games and cannot use SP1 memory card. Console gamepads are incompatable with PCs)

Does anyone know where I can purchase replacement "euro" plugs? My local electronics store recently discontinued them and nobody else in town seems to sell them. Of course, any source will need to accept mail order, internet, or telephone orders.

Details: This is the small two-prong ungrounded male AC power plug connector used in low-power consumer electronics throughout Europe. In Germany, these are often called "Schuko" plugs.

Notice I want the plug itself, not an adapter or replacement power cord. I intend to snip off the existing plug from a cord (attached to items purchased in other countries, for example) and replace it with this plug in a semi-permanent installation. The type of electrical connection is unimportant (crimp, solder, or screw).

Note: If you sell this or can answer after this question is closed, please feel free to contact me directly by clicking on my name above and then selecting the "email..." link on my profile page.

Sort of like whitepages.com, except on the phone, and you say your friends name and it searches for their phone number, sorta like a phone book.
Also like Toll-free TellMe (1-800-555-1212) Where you say the name of the listing you want and it gives you the phone number. I want something like that, except not searching for listings phone numbers, searching for people's phone numbers.
