I have a Motorola console hi-fi from the 60's that uses vacuum tubes in its amplifier. The right channel is starting to cut out and waver in volume. I suspect one of the tubes is starting to become weak, but I have no way of telling which one it is without buying lots of expensive replacement tubes. I've tried every electronics and guitar repair shop in town and nobody owns a tube tester or even knows where to find one anymore. My question is: Can vacuum tubes be tested at home with a multimeter?

This is my tale of woe with them.

I purchased some Sony over the ear headphone early in the year, they were not broken but did not fit over the ear so that the speaker part was over the ear hole. I tried returning them on the basis that they are not suitable for the purpose they were intended.
The manager refused to accept them back, because I had opened them.
I told Argos card that Argos had broken the law, and their contract, by not accepting the item back and refunding my cost, they told me not to worry about it, they would put a note with my account.
I wrote to argos complaining, I emailed Argos complaining, I rang Argos complaining, eventually they refunded the cost, couldn't understand why it wasn't done originally, and gave me a £5 voucher.
By this time Argos card had charged me a non payment fee, even after the £5 voucher I am down over £13, due to Argos, and Argos card.
I lost over £13.
I no longer shop at Argos, for me or anyone else, they have lost much more than I.

i need to revise the question. i plug a 1/8 plug into the headphone jack and it goes to a red/white RCA Cable that is plugged into my yamaha amp. my question is that i am not able to control both left and right on my amp because of the way the connection is made.

maybe i need a different sound card that has separate outputs for left and right channel -- or different controls.

Why do cables for plugs and other things around the house always become tangled in each other? even though they were originally set out neat and away from each other. And has anyone done any time lapse photography to watch what happens to the cable when you're not looking?

We just bought this:

http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=DSLRA100K&Dept=cameras&CategoryName=dcc_DIDigitalSLRCameras_BodyandKits

I am wondering, what is the best way to take product photos with this camera?
We have all the old Minolta lenses that go with it too, I think I won't need them for product shots though.

Thank you! :)

I have just bought a new 42" LG LCD HDTV. You can read the specifications of my tv on this webpage.

http://sg.lge.com/prodmodeldetail.do?actType=search&page=1&modelCategoryId=0102&categoryId=0102&parentId=01&modelCodeDisplay=42LC2RR&model=NOTHING#

But like most I've read, the screen was terribly pixelated. Unfortunately, my country, Singapore's cable tv is still not ready with their HD version of cable box.

But is there a way to temporarily view my tv with better quality? I've read that HDMI cable would work better with the normal RCA ones. Is that right? Though the back of my tv has got a DIV/HDMI input port, but the rest of my devices only has those normal RCA/S-Video/Components outputs. Is there a way round this?

My next question goes about HD DVD Players. Considering my LCD tv is still pixelated, will a HD DVD Player give smooth high quality video when viewing normal dvd/vcd discs? Or will it only play high quality video for only HD dvd discs?

If they can make Digital Video Recorders (TiVo and the like), why can't they make Digital Radios? There's many times I'd like to record talk readio to listen to later, or pause a song when my phone rings.

If this type of cable exists, could someone please tell me what to ask for in the store. Thanks.

and every time i want to listen to music and when i move i olny have one specker but when i move the wire it has 2 speckers what do i do?

2006-12-04 10:56:02 · 2 answers · asked by kyle l 1

The manual makes no reference to wiring connections. The diagram on the appliance is not clear as to what should be done. A web search suggests that the two live leads (brown and black) should simply be connected together. Is thiscorrect? I have spoken to AEG customer services. They said they would ring me later! So far, no joy.
