This is my tale of woe with them.

I purchased some Sony over the ear headphone early in the year, they were not broken but did not fit over the ear so that the speaker part was over the ear hole. I tried returning them on the basis that they are not suitable for the purpose they were intended.
The manager refused to accept them back, because I had opened them.
I told Argos card that Argos had broken the law, and their contract, by not accepting the item back and refunding my cost, they told me not to worry about it, they would put a note with my account.
I wrote to argos complaining, I emailed Argos complaining, I rang Argos complaining, eventually they refunded the cost, couldn't understand why it wasn't done originally, and gave me a £5 voucher.
By this time Argos card had charged me a non payment fee, even after the £5 voucher I am down over £13, due to Argos, and Argos card.
I lost over £13.
I no longer shop at Argos, for me or anyone else, they have lost much more than I.

I can not comment with regard to your question, but the bottom line is you have made the right decision, never shop with them again.

And for any Argos managers looking in, I will not shop with you again. Get your act together, and help people like the person who has asked this question.

If its like most store cards, then no! If you pay off some of the amount, then yes you can buy with whats leftover. The limit is £1000. Not a penny over im afraid! They will prob raise your limit after a few payments.
