On ANY wireless mic, the "thing" that juts out of the bottom, is the antenna. One interesting feature is that you can get a rough idea of the frequency being used by the length of the antenna. The shorter the protrusion, the higher the frequency. This is also true with cell phones. The older, lower frequency ones had an antenna that you had to pull up to use them. Newer ones only had an antenna about an inch or so long. Real new ones have no protruding antenna at all.

It's wireless micophone. Yes it is antenna. Today's mic doesn't have the cable.
