I'm tired of paying for basic cable every month for channels that are already FREE, just so I can get good reception!

If you live close to the TV stations in your area, you don't need much of an antenna at all. Much beyond that, it will be tough finding an effective indoor TV antenna. I'd suggest one that is amplified to pull in better reception. Take a look at the line of antennas from Terk. They are a pretty well respected name when it comes to consumer antennas. Also you might want to look at getting an HD set top box. While you might not have an HDTV yet, you can still take advantage of all your network stations in perfect digital quality, without static or shadows, plus most of these stations also simulcast other stations, sometimes 3 or 4 others, all for free, nothing a month. So the bottom line is you spend $150 for a box and you get all your network stations plus 20 others you've never had before, all in perfect quality, all for free.
