Are there some instructions that go along with the CB?Maybe your employer may have some. When I had one I just kept it on channel 19,but then you and the other person could switch to another channel if you want to talk privately. But it has been a while things may hve changed since I used one last. You could
try to get some online either through a search engine or the CB manufactorer's website if they have one.Thanks.

You need an afternoon and what they call an SW meter (relative cheap item but valuable and reuseable for what it does). It takes two people to locate an antenna on a vehicle roof because one has to keep an eye on the meter. Instructions come with meter on how to use. There is an antenna out there for vehicles that has a strong magnetic base and antenna screws down into base. This is because you can remove antenna once you leave your vehicle and place it inside somewhere inconspictously; Do Not use cb without antenna connected or you will fry your finals inside the cb. Put note on dash? This antenna is also bendable for different reasons and warranted. This is a hobby that a person gets into then after a while leaves it alone then gets into it for a while. Right now, I have been away from the cb life. There is also a upper and lower band and a different language that is used on the bands...I remember roger beep mics

Well besides the obvious like make sure you have an antenna hooked up, tuning your antenna for a good SWR is a good idea, but probably wouldn't be causing the problems you're speaking of. It sounds to me that your mic is defective or not making a complete connection at the jack/plug. You could test this by hooking up a speaker to the PA output, set your radio to PA instead of CB, talk into the mic and hear if it sounds like your voice is coming out the speaker clearly or not. If it sounds clear, then there could be something seriously wrong with the radio itself. Take it to a truck stop CB shop and have them test it on their bench.

A CB remains a considered necessary gadget to "A Trucker!" there are a lot of "ineffective-spots" as we communicate, the place a cellular-telephone, blue-tooth, and "cord-much less" get admission to are non-existent, and the cost of a satelite link at the instant are not properly well worth the rate to a "poor-working" trucker, the two! the extra youthful technology takes all of those "luxeries"(cellular-telephone, laptop, blue tooth, and so on...) with no attention. they could grow to be "bored" too incredibly if all they had to apply have been a CB, whether this is a on hand gadget and for the $200.00 investment which could help you alongside with your activity, and shop you in-touch with the international exterior of your cab(truck) this is "considered necessary" to your "backside-line"(gross sales-pay). try it sometime, you will possibly be able to get "hooked" on the "squack-container, chatter-container..."

It is either your antenna or the co axle cable going to it or it is a poor mic
