Cell Phones & Plans - December 2006

I just bought a razr cell phone off ebay (its a verizon one) so that I could use it abroad with an international sim card. But now I'm reading on here that verizon phones don't work outside of the US/Verizon. Is there any possible way? And aren't razr's gsm compatible or something? Thanks

I've been to their website, asked this question, and could not find an answer. I heard it was true for any network but not sure. I want to find out before I get a phone for my wife on Cingular service too.

I'm a long time NEXTEL customer...my GF in on the SPRINT network. I can't believe how many dropped calls she gets. She seems to be better off with Dixie Cups and String. SPINT PEOPLE WHO SEE THIS...FIX YOUR SYSTEM.

A friend of mine left her cellphone at my house it is a samsung SGH-x495 T-Mobile.My friend lives out of state and I just contacted her to let her know I just now found her phone.Well my friend got a new phone and told me I could have the phone that she thought she lost.I need to know if I can use her old phone and have celphone service.her phone has a sim card.Do I have to get a new sim card to use her old phone.Can I use her old phone or do I just throw the phone away.what do I do.Also If I can't use her old phone what is the best camera phone to get and how does the camera phone work.When taking a picture on a camera phone does it cost anything or take away minutes.

I just got a new cell phone from Verizon recently. Within the 1st week, I noticed that the battery was not holding a charge at all! Literally I could have a 15 minute conversation and it would die. I took the phone to Verizon today and they told me that I had overcharged the battery. I told them that that's impossible as all new phones (within the past few years) have systems built in to specifically keep the battery from being overcharged. They still maintained that the battery was overcharged and I can't leave the phone plugged in overnight. I countered that that was the dumbest and the biggest lie I have ever been told by someone selling me an electronic product. They gave me a new battery and told me not to overcharge it again. If the user was at fault, why would they give me a new battery?

Since when can you "overcharge" a cell phone battery? Who is right?

i've been calling people a lot lately, so im not sure if i still hav anymore times. is there a way to check it?? i use t mobile, and i get 1000min, but it's a 5ppl family plan, so im only suppose to hav 4 hr/month.
on my cellphone i have "Total Time" and "Outgoing Time", it might help, im not sure what is though...

For christmas i had asked for the moto slvr l7 for cingular wireless. I am not entirley sure if it is worth it and christmas is in 17 days now. I am not due for an upgrade so it would cost $350.00 and my parents arent to happy with this gift i am asking for.(whos parent would be? lol) If anyone has this phone please tell me some good qualities and features about it. I have an unlocked Motorola L6 phone from Cingular and I have a T-Mobile SIM card. I'm able to send and receive calls using the T-Mobile SIM so the phone must be unlocked but if I try to search for a new network only Cingular shows up? Any ideas?

My dad was gonna get me a cell phone for emergencies ONLY. I was thinking of getting the Razr because of its thinness and it can easily fit in my pocket. But I also wanted the LG Chocolate because it has an mp3 player combined with it. I've seen many bad reviews of the Chocolate though, mainly of the small touch pad but I have small skinny fingers. Which do you think I should chose?
