on the back, top, or bottom of all cellphones i'ved ever seen there is always a little plastic or rubber thing? anyone know what this is for?

it isnt used to cover anything because you cant remove it (or it is not meant to be removed) also there is usually only one

I think it works like those rubber mats you but in the bathtub. It's meant to keep it from sliding around when you put it on a table or smooth surface. It's on a lot of electronics. My CD player, DVD player, VCR have the rubber circles too.

My current phone has several of those plastic/rubber things. One is used as a cover for the headset plug. Another is used to cover the cable used to upload stuff from a computer. Still another is used for the optical connection to other printers etc. that recognize that feature..

YMMV, of course. Check the manual for your phone, or contact your service provider for details.

What? Just looked at mine. It has a little round circle of rubber on the lower left on back. Got me.

Hmm good question. I have no idea. I just tried to take the one out of mine out with my knife and no luck. Mine is in the upper left. If i could take it apart I would, but I really don't want to go that far with it. Beats the hell out me.

you clip it to your ear or your belt, I suggest your ear.
