Consumer Electronics - 27 December 2006

I have an HDTV with 1 HDMI port. I have two options. 1. Should I hook up my HD DVR Digital Cable box up using the HDMI? OR 2. Should I hook up my upconvert DVD player with the HDMI instead? In either case, if I don't use the HDMI cable, what cable should I use to get the second best picture? Thanks!

I managed to hook up the Laptop to the DVD player and am able to watch shows/movies from my laptop to the TV. The question though is I bought a S-Video cable that only has 4 pins on either end. The 4 pin fits to the 7 pin connector but it's loose. Should I return it and look for a S-Video cable that has 1 end 4 pin and the other 7 pin. Or do those cables not exist?

my dad just hooked up the tv and the sound keeps(not all the time) cutting in and out and when it dose that it says mono/sap. dose anyone have anything.

For Christmas me and my twin brother got the 30 gig Zune from Microsoft. I was so happy. I am so sick of hearing people talk all great about the IPod. Me personally I think the IPod sucks. I mean come on. IPods have their own format so if I buy a song off the ITunes store, I cant pull it off my Ipod and onto my computer if I wanted to delete ITunes. THAT BLOWS! The Zune allows any MP3 to easily be put onto or taken off the device. Yes it is a little bigger, but only because IT HAS VIDEO! The radio FM tuner on it is awesome. I am also feeling the fact that when two people who have the Zune are close enough you can swap files wirelessly. So far, I have uploaded roughly 30 albums, 2 or 3 full lengh movies, countless pictures, AND COUNTING! The Zune beats the IPod hands down and its only getting started. I forsee them sticking around for a good while.

all my friends tell me to use iTunes even though its 99cents a song. I thought you could use limewire or windows or systems too. but it wont let me download my songs. is tehre anyway to download songs onto the nano without being charged????? im a total dud of this so any other helpful hints or comments regarding the nano feel free to post! lol

Hi, i live in Singapore. Where can i get a very cheap ipod usb cable (below SGD $15) in Singapore. I don't really care about the brand, as long as the cable works, its fine with me. In the UK, some stores sell them for 99 pence ($3 sgd). Are there any shops selling cheap ipod cables near Clementi or Bukit Timah??
