Consumer Electronics - 31 July 2006

Another one...after my I pod question. The main reason why I asked that previous question was cause I have been noticing that these last 2-3 years, every time I buy some new "big ticket" item, even from a good reputable store or brand, that there is ALWAYS something wrong with it. E.g. my Toshiba laptop - went back to Toshiba 2x in the last 8 months, with the exact same problem. They fix it, it breaks again. Another one - my Canon camera - broke, went back to Canon, they fix, so far works okay. Next, my Sony Dvd player - won't recognize some DVDs, went back to Sony, they fix - works so far, And it goes on and on..
It just seems that every single electronics I bought in the last year or so is just badly manufactured or something. And everything that can go wrong with it usually happens right after the warranty expires. Does anyone have similar experience?

I bought a cell phone from the Verizon place in the mall in January for 110.00$ - it was cool and everything at first but now I'm just kind of tired of this type of phone and would like to try something new..so would I be able to just take the phone back ( I have all the papers/packaging/etc. that it came with ) and get a different phone and have the 110.00$ count off on the new phone? So like if I wanted a phone for 200.00$ - I would only have to pay 90.00$? Or would I have to just keep my old phone and pay all 200.00$ for the new phone? Also, I'm not on a plan I just have the IMpulse deal..if that makes any difference, annnnnd if it does make a difference, would Verizon be able to program the INpulse plan into one of the regular plan phones? Like perhaps a Razr - those phones are available if you're on a plan..but is there something that they could program into the phone so that it could also be an INpulse phone?

Alright well sorry for making this so long and confusing.

I would like to buy an Ipod for my son, cause he keeps bragging about it and his birthday is coming up. I just wanted to ask, are Ipods pretty good players? Just bought a new Samsung LCD flat panel. Haven't upgraded to digital, hdtv cable yet. DVD's look great, but cable broadcast channels look very fuzzy. Do I have to upgrade to get rid of the fuzziness?

Its kind of complicated...
We had 3 accounts on our computer, then 2 were deleted, one of them being the one with the iTunes for the real iPod. So i uninstalled iTunes and installed it again, but it still says its linked to another library. What do I do?
