Is it at all possible to buy a cell phone preferably a motorola i870 without buying an actual cell phone plan?

You can either from a store or ebay. But if you want to use it make sure it's unlocked and if you have an existing SIM card from either Tmobile or Cingular then you can just transfer it. Verizon does not have SIM cards. If you're in a country where you can buy a SIM card and just renew the load then you can use the phone that way.

Yeah, but you have to make sure when you want service that your plan will let you use the phone. My bro bought one from some kind of cell phone and phone accessory store, but you could try ebay, too.

eBay....people sell just phones, new and used.
if you already have a plan and just want to switch out phones, but it and then take it to your service provider and the can set up the new phone.....just make sure when you buy another phone make sure it was used by the same provider.

like if you have Sprint, make sure that when you buy that phone from somebody that they used Sprint

Here in the Philippines, it is possible. You have to get a cellphone that is "open line" You only have to buy the unit and choose whatever service provider you fancy. We also have prepaid accounts here.

while you're defining your self to the international via the telephone you carry, then you fairly are in difficulty. you could't even spell basic words, no longer to show use progressed technologies, i might focus extra on your training and who you're as a guy or woman than in step with a telephone to tell the international what a brilliant guy or woman you're. Get a inexpensive one and be happy.
