What do I need to know when handling a School District issued laptop (Apple laptop) Macintosh?

I'm going into 6th Grade in A School District Program (clark County School District [5th largest in the US] in the State Of Nevada) called a Magnet School (don't ask) and I want to handle the laptop well so What Do I Do?

Other info: Nevada is last in the nation for High School Graduates that graduate from College with a Collage Degree.
