The top 10 rated DS games are as follows, with a brief summary:
1.Mario Kart
Now you can play Mario Kart against opponents all over the world with Mario Kart DS. Mario Kart DS includes new tracks, as well as retro tracks selected from all the previous Mario Kart versions. In addition to a handful of single-player modes, you can play with up to eight players locally or with four players over the Internet. Your records are stored in your cartridge, and a unique friend code lets you keep track of friends online.
2.Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
The team that developed Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow returns to bring the sequel, CastleVania: Dawn of Sorrow, to the Nintendo DS. This time, you must infiltrate a castle belonging to a cult that is planning to resurrect Lord Dracula. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow lets you defeat evil spirits using the "Magic Seal" system which utilizes the Nintendo DS touch screen. You can trade captured souls with other players using the wireless system as well.
3. Advance War:Dual Strike
Developed by Intelligent Systems, Advance Wars: Dual Strike is the DS version of the popular turn-based strategy game.
4. New Super Mario Bros
The first new 2D Mario platformer since Super Mario World has arrived. Boasting "incredible" 3D graphics to accompany classic 2D gameplay, this fast-paced adventure will have Mario fans cheering as they make their way over fields, under water, through castles and into the air. New and familiar enemies are everywhere, not to mention "mind-blowing" challenges made possible by the dual screens of the Nintendo DS. Not only that, but players can link wirelessly with a friend to play as both Mario and Luigi in multiplayer mode.
5. Meteos
An evil planet named Meteo is sending storms of world-ending meteors across the galaxy, and only your puzzle skills can stop them. As blocks drop down on the lower screen, you must use the DS's stylus to match up blocks of the same color. Once you have enough blocks connected, they'll shoot back into the sky to form planets on the upper screen.
6. Kirby:Canvas Cure
Kirby makes his debut on the DS with this 2D action game. In Kirby: Canvas Curse, it's up to you to use your magic wand (stylus pen) to guide the pink hero, stun enemies, and launch special attacks.
7.Animal Crossing:Wild World
Animal Crossing: Wild World is the follow-up to the Nintendo GameCube title, Animal Crossing. Animal Crossing: Wild World lets you interact with a virtual village of animals that are doing something different every minute of every day. With Animal Crossing's 24-hour clock, the game's unique events can be in synch with real time--as day turns to night in the real world, the sun will also begin to set in the game. The Nintendo DS version of the game can be totally controlled via the touch screen, and it features Wi-Fi Internet play.
8.Super Mario 64
Super Mario 64, the classic 3D platformer for the Nintendo 64, arrives on the Nintendo DS with all-new features that take advantage of the portable system's dual screens, touch screen, and wireless multiplayer capability. Like the original game, Super Mario 64 DS challenges you to find all the power stars hidden throughout the royal castle in the effort to free the "Toads" imprisoned inside a collection of paintings. This time, you can play as Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Princess Peach, each of whom has unique abilities. Overcome the challenges on your own or battle up to three of your friends in the multiplayer modes.
9. Tetris
You can rediscover the timeless puzzle game Tetris on your Nintendo DS with Tetris DS. Now you can choose from six different game modes, all of which take advantage of the DS's touch screen. Each game mode features a theme from another Nintendo franchise, such as The Legend of Zelda or Metroid. You can challenge up to nine other players using one cartridge for local multiplayer play or three other players around the world with the DS's Wi-Fi connection.
10. Mario&Luigi:Partners in Time
And you thought their last adventure was insane? In this sequel to Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, the brothers travel back in time to retrieve Princess Peach, only to come face to face with baby versions of themselves, the princess and Bowser. Teaming up with their young selves will soon send Mario and Luigi on a quest of lunatic proportions as players must control both the adult AND baby versions of the Mushroom Kingdom heroes. Players use the top screen to study the land, keep track of the pair of brothers not under their control or maximize combo moves in battle. With twice the Mario brothers and twice the laughs, this massive side-splitting adventure could only find a home on the dual screens of the Nintendo DS.
