after an update as don.. te sound jut wet and when i try to play music an error comes up telling me that there maybe no sound device installed. this is te error code i wasgiven wen i clicked web help...C00D11DF

I have just received a new computer and unzipping files doesnt work the way it used to. I used to be able to open my email and unzip it to view it. Now the only way for me to view a zipped file is to download it and save it. I would like to be able to view a zipped file to see if I actually want to download and save it. Is this still possible to do? I am still using Outlook 2000 but I have windows XP now. I had windows 2000 before this. Is there a setting that I can adjust to allow me to unzip and view without saving?

I was Installing Some Games on my Computure Last night for a Friend, I Intsalled "Airline Tycoon" for him (He wanted it, Wierdly Enough) and This Error Message Popped up 41% Through the Installation

Does anyone know of a good shareware / freeware registry tracer? I want to find out what registry keys a program is trying to look up when I run it, so I can import them from my backup.

(Background is that I recently upgraded my OS from 98 to XP via an OEM install, which of course blew away my registry - as I expected; I'd exported the original into .reg files so I could reimport settings later - XP's files and settings transfer wizard didn't grab the old registry entries to put on my new system, so I either have to import keys or reinstall apps, and I'd rather import keys. I've already imported the obvious branches, but some apps are still complaining, so they must be looking for more obscure keys. I can't just import whole branches because XP doesn't like it, and fair enough since some of them cover system internals.)

I'm using Microsoft XP Pro. When I try to open my Office 2003, I get a "preparing to install...", then "Please wait while Microsoft configures.......", then it asks me to insert the microsoft word CD (which I don't have with me). But if I click "cancel", Word opens up fine. How do I get rid of that message?

One of my machines has both Windows XP and Ubuntu installed. I have Avast operating in my XP environment, but when I'm in Ubuntu, I don't see the little Avast icon.

Do I have to install Avast in the Ubuntu environment as well?

Will they conflict with each other?

Hello, I need some help with my ubuntu linux I just got. Putting linux on a CD and booting it would be easier, but I would prefer to use an SD card since I will only install it once. I have already extracted the content and put it on the card. Now I want to know how to boot it without installing it. I restarted my pc and pressed the required key (delete). Now where do I go? Also if you know, how do I install it on the harddrive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I got an upgrade to windows Vista thru the manufacturer which was HP, it was a rebate where if i sent my receipt in i would get a free copy of window Vista, well after 2 months of installing Vista its asking me for the product key again, and when i type it in it says its already in use and I need to get a new one. Any suggestions on how to fix this? It didnt say anything about it being a trial version otherwise I wouldn't of bothered. It says I have 2 days left to activate it so my other question is what happens if i dont activate it?
