One of my machines has both Windows XP and Ubuntu installed. I have Avast operating in my XP environment, but when I'm in Ubuntu, I don't see the little Avast icon.

Do I have to install Avast in the Ubuntu environment as well?

Will they conflict with each other?

Do note that any programs installed in Windows will never show up in Ubuntu. First of all, they aren't in the same file system. And second of all, XP programs will not run in Linux.

What would you need antivirus for in Ubuntu? It's Linux! It's secure all in it's own!
