Software - May 2007

My free copy of Microsoft Small business edition has just run out on my new computer. If i unistall it will I lose the ability to use power point and excell. What else will I loose if I do unistall it? Also when I tried to use excell this morning I could not type in the boxes could this have something to do with it?

I curently have a problem with my PC. It seems that it has a virus that kees me form shutting my PC down. It keeps restarting even if I choose the shut down option.


My current antivirus software is updated and I have tried other softwares but it seems this virus is unknown because it cannot be cured by the latest softwares. My PC is also only 1 month ols so PC hardware is not the issue in this (and I have also checked if it is a hardware problem).

My problem is I keep unplugging my PC for it to shut down and might cause damage somehow to my PC or AVR.

Does anybody have the same problems? Can you please help me on how to solve this.

i got the recovery cd and product identifier here are my questions

my comp is a toshiba satilite p105
windows xp media center edition

1.there is some viruses and i think trojans that my antivirus cant detect/get rid of. will cleaning all this and reinstalling the cd make my computer brand new again?

2.is there anything i need to do before i put the cds in or acn i just put the cd in and it will guide me from there?

3.is there anything i should be aware of and is there things that i cant get back.?

4.i know i wont get back some of the pre installed programs like adobe photoshop but anything else?

5.ive got a wireless printer connected to my comp will i have to do it over?

The trial Version updated my Old Version. After the limited usages the MS Office is not working. Then I have Deleted it thro' Control Panel. Now my Old Version also gone. I have a cell/box on the program, im trying to copy and past a text in the cell/box, but for some reason the right hand side of the text gets cut off when i paste it in. I have tried fiddling with the coloums but nothing seems to be working. Also it is on auto something when i paste it in.

i just bought a new computer and it has windows vista. i am now learning that office 2007 is huge pain in the *** bc when i send documents to others (i.e. professors) it appears as docx. so no one can open it without downloading viewers (which is a pain in their asses). do you think it is possible to run an older version of microsoft office on vista? should i ditch the vista for xp? whats the use of having this new version if i can not send documents? please help...
