Software - February 2007

My brothers and I made a movie, and it is stored on my brother's computer, which I currently am using. It is 7 gigs, which is too large for a DVD, so I need some compression software, which will not say sample across the screen. Also, do you know of any free internet DVD burning software? Thanks!

Someone sent me a word document through an email and i want to view it but do not have Microsoft Office...is there any way i can view it?

I can recall someone saying that Microsoft has something to download but i don't know where?

I am running Windows XP SP2. As the administrator, my Windows site gets the text of programs, but not all the graphics, ie.e. highlites, shading, pix, etc. Message boxes, in which there is text, appear solid black. What is preventing the program to either download or load from a disk only partially in one site but not on the sites of the other two users on this PC?

I'm looking for a piece of inexpensive software that will run course bookings/seminars, invoice people, sent mailings to them, enable questionnaires, do reports, print certificates and enable people to book online, customer enquiry and such?

I'm trying to put together a very short movie in adobe after effects (with imported .wmv files). The program is running painfully slow. I've set all of my previews to the lowest resolution to help the program run faster, however, the file still won't render quickly. Is there anything I can do about this? I'm trying to work out timing/pacing, and this is crucial...

I need help with two things:

1. How do I insert drop-down arrows so quick searches can take place within the excel document? An example of this: I am looking for 12 metres of fabric. By clicking on the arrow icon, I am able to see all entered data and click on "12" in order to narrow the search. I need help!

2. How do I make it so the drop-down arrows are always at the top of the excel sheet...for example, whether I am at #5 or #5,005, the #1 is always viewable for quick and easy access to entered data...?

Okay, I put put some of my cd's in my hardrive and imported the songs I wanted to my Library, after I did that I deleted the files from my computer and when I was all finished that, I cleared my recycle bin. Now it says the files are not there and has an ! next to the song in my Itunes library. I dont feel like going back and putting all the songs on my computer again, how can I get them back?

Though the computer is being put off properly but when I open it again checkdisk performs automatically. This happens three days ago.
Another thing, the system restore does not open or performs its function anymore though it performed well about 4 months ago.
What seems to be the problem of these two situations? Any help from anyone is very much appreciated. Thank you.
