Okay, I made some avi files on the computer, converting to mpeg is not a problem. Does dvd player play mpeg as well? And let's say if I have 10 mpeg files. How do I tell my dvd player to play them. Does it work like DVD or special software is needed to have it convert first???

My Windows XP Home Edition crashed! I have 100s of my family pictures there. How can I recover them? I can only go to "C" prompt using a CD and I can see those pictures in different directories.

I will really appreciate any tips!!!

my pc got restarted if i run 'msconfig'. i also cannot access hidden files or folders. also my pc runs very slowly from time to time( so slow that i cannot even edit a image in a .doc file although having 1 GB RAM). programs naming isas.exe, services.exe (some program file in the system32 folder always keep runing in the background). currently I use an out of Date Mcfee anti virus. But as soon as I started downloading avira antivirus from their website, my whole system shut down then restarted. could anyone plz tell me what to do?

I had earlier installed 'Call Of Duty' in my pc. At first everything was allright. but soon the abnormalities startd showing up. though I uninstalled it, the problem still lingers. plz help.

my friend has a psp and his insternet browser has like a windows xp 2000 based version home menu, it has a start menu, and all that a wallpaper, and all that junk. HOW THE HECK DO U GET IT? cuz a friend got it for him and he has no clue what his friend put on his psp but is is so freaking awsome !!!!! I am a student of Hardware learning course. I am learning windows base operating system. I can install windows 98/xp. The xp dont give security in fat32 file system but there is full security in ntfs.
What are the other diffrences?

On my slides i have to click for my text to come up on my FLOAT effect. people have been tellin me to automatically select time and that makes the slide move.. i dont want that.. i want it so it will AUTOMATICALLY bring up my text/pics without me clicking.. do you understand that yall? Can anyone shed some light on what is a bit of a mystery. I'm pretty IT savvy, but I admit that I am at a bit of a loss to understand why `Limewire' should suddenly disappear from my startup/system tray, then not `run' at all when I choose/click on it from my desktop or anywhere else. I've tried uninstalling then reinstalling it, but even though it reinstalled it, it still would not `run'. ????
