My Windows XP Home Edition crashed! I have 100s of my family pictures there. How can I recover them? I can only go to "C" prompt using a CD and I can see those pictures in different directories.

I will really appreciate any tips!!!

3 CHOICES:
1-enter the wondows in safe mode so you can start windows
2- install your hard disk in another computer and use it as slave hard disk so you cancopy them to another storage device.
3-DOS:xcopy /s *.*new device or partition.

Option 1. Copy all to floppies. Be nasty with that many pictures.

Option 2. Take out your disc drive and put it in a mates PC as a "secondary" drive and use his machine to copy all your stuff onto CD-ROMS or DVD etc.

Option 3. Buy a cheap second hard drive for your machine and that will be "D:" when you get to the "C:" prompt. You can then copy them over and save them. When you reinstall C: they will be safe. (especially if you disconnect D: when reinstalling to be sure)
