I was recently given a computer which is our 2nd computer. I loaded our windows xp Professional onto it to make sure everything works. As you know I can only use that as a 30 day trial. Can I buy Xp home edition and enter it over the windows XP professional?

codecs, schmodecs. I've visited numerous sites (good and spammy) that all provide detailed, thousand-step "how to" guides on ripping DVD's to my system for local or iPod playback. But there has *got* to be a better way. So, here's my question:

What's the best/easiest way to rip a DVD on a Win XP PC?

Hopefully, I won't have to plow through a zillion crappy codec's, virus-infested malware, or other crippled adware to get this done. All I want to do is to be able to view my DVD's on my iPod or laptop - without the actual DVD in the player (thereby saving batteries on my laptop).

how to remove netmeeting from windows xp?? is not listed on add remove programs dialog.....can i also remove netmeeting folder under programs directory??

O.K., I can't get The Sims: Deluxe Edition to work on my Windows 2000. Everytime I put the CD in, the computer starts to freeze up, but it doesn't. I don't even see the installation screen. It's like on my CD thing, the light is lit up, but nothing's on the screen. Why won't it work? How do you fix this problem if you know how? I'm running Windows 2000 Professional.

Has anyone ever heard of this before? I got up this morning and I noticed that my computer has 3 popups from Spy Sheriff. It says my computer is infected.Its definitly some kind of virus/trojan but I have no idea where it came from. I have all of my Norton Antivirus, Windows, Spybot, and Adaware SE updated but none of them found any problems. If you have had a problem with this could ya help me out? Thanks.

I am currently looking for a Free Asian Music Sharing program. I already know some really basic Music Sharing Programs
like Kazaa, Limewire, Kugoo [chinese, won't work for me, my computer cannot view chinese symbols...and i can't read chinese], Direct Connect, BearShare. But I've used many of them, and all but kugoo has chinese songs that i wish to download. But my computer cannot view it's chinese language. Thus, do any of you all have a recommendation?
