i installed it using add programs feature

Right click on program file and choose compatability. Select run as and then from dropdown menu choose operation system where it did work. If it is really old you may want to choose other display settings.

previous answer is true it sounds very old and not compatible with windows XP try right clicking the icon and play with some of the compatibility options that come with windows xp
you could also create a dos bootdisk from bootdisk.com then installing and playing there. Could be a pain getting all your drivers setup though.

well if it was installed from floppy disks must be a very old versions, since proberly not compitable and meant to run in dos.
i would suggest downloading or getting a new version of the game
