I was recently given a computer which is our 2nd computer. I loaded our windows xp Professional onto it to make sure everything works. As you know I can only use that as a 30 day trial. Can I buy Xp home edition and enter it over the windows XP professional?

Umm... why is it a 30day trial??? You just have to activate it. You can buy XP Home Edition and go over the Professional, but just activating it would save you 170bucks.

You can't use the upgrade copy of XP Home, as it is considered a downgrade. You would need to purchase the full retail copy of XP Home.

Yes, XP home will work fine. There are ways around your problem, but they may/may not violate your concience. Installing XP home will be the easiest fix for you I think.

"which skill whilst i purchase a clean workstation i will could desire to purchase a clean working gadget, maximum in all probability living house windows 7. " only about all New workstation's comprise living house windows 7 coated, so which you will no longer could desire to pay one by one for it. And, in spite of the indisputable fact that W7 takes slightly time to get used to, it somewhat is critically greater effective than XP in maximum of things. XP is getting very close to to that is "end of life", as properly. and finally, once you sell an older workstation, you're able to desire to comprise the living house windows disks, in any different case it only isn't properly worth determining to purchase.
