I'm trying to change over from BT to Homecall as my internet provider and I'm having a major problem on my laptop as it will not accept the software for Homecall. So far I've removed the old BT software and I've tried to install the Homecall but when I get to the agreement and accept I get this message"The install engine (iKernel.exe) could not be launched. The RPC server is unavailable." I have rang the tech support twice and they have talked me though the installation twice, having restored the laptop to a previous date, removed all the BT software again, and started over but keep getting the same message. The tech support seem to think that one of two things could have happened, A: the BT software can't be removed as its corrupted the engines, drivers or whatever, or B: that there are problems with the laptop. Can anyone help? As you can guess I'm not very computor literate but I can work from basic instutions. Any advice would be gratfully recieved as I'm pulling my hair out!!
