running Win98 SE with 1300Mhz processor(Durton),224 MB RAM
and about 1G free harddisk,tried to upgrade it to Win xp and getting an error message saying" this program need a newer version".I don't wanna loose WIN98 at the same time want win Xp what should I do in this case.

I have a brand new, unused Windows XP Professional Edition installation disk. Sadly enough, my friend failed to give me the Product Code and I can't use it. I've been trying to reach him with no success after 3 days and I'm very anxious to start using it. Please help!

Im desperately trying to get hold of Powerpoint to do a presentation but I am not prepared to pay in excess of £150 for the privilege!! Does anyone know what happens to the previous versions that get superceeded or any cheap software suppliers?
Have thought about downloading free trial, but wont have access to internet till Monday and it needs to be done by wednesday...Any ideas??

Hi I have TV Card in my PC and I download Sky movies from SkyForBroadband, but I want to burn them to DVDR they are 4.7GB and are 8x, but what I have found in the past once burned to DVDR, and then deleteted when I went to watch them I have trouble viewing them like there is and error on the DVDR. What software is good to burn media to DVDR , I mean good software which people use and it works not peoples personal taste, like it doesent do the job but looks pritty on the PC, I dont care if its and eye saw as long as I can get my media to run once burned to DVDR. Thanks alot.

I don't have a fax machine, i am using the built in Microsoft Fax console, but can never send a fax. My comuter has a built in fax modem. My computer makes a tone, but of course I don't have a phone line hooked up because I am using cable to access internet. So, Do I also need to pug in a phone line then? If so can I just hook line straight from wall jack to computer? Also, when I type in the number to be dialed do I put in dashes or spaces?

I have just installed a fresh copy of windows XP pro on my computer. After setting up the internet, I got a message with a link to microsoft website for a download which I did. But the download took ore than 1 hour and i had to stop it.
Since then, the computer start and stops at the pop-up logo. When I tried a fresh installation, or try to repair it, it stops at the save level.
What I do not understand is that, the windows 2000 installation works properly.
I thought that the CD was faulty, but the installation with the save CD works on another PC.
I really want to be able to re-installed the windows XP on my computer.
