What you want to do if to reformat your computer. That's OK. It will work much better after, but all your programs and data will be lost. So I suggest o back-up all your important data. And after the new installation of the OS(Windows, Linux or any other) you will have to install all your programs again. If you have problems contact me through e-mail and I will try to help you.
Good luck!

It depends on whether your computer came with all those things pre-installed. If it came with the op system and all those programs already on the hard drive, then completely wiping your disk clean and rebooting with your recovery disk should restore it to the way it was. If you added all that stuff after you got it, "slicking" your hard drive will then require you to reinstall all of those components. Try booting up the computer with the start-up (recovery) CD in the drive and see if it will fix whatever problems you are experiencing before wiping the disk clean.
