I had to re-install windows on my computer, due to a virus problem.
When I finished re-installing everything, and clicked on the Wireless Network Connection icon that is on the bottom right hand side of my computer it didn't list any available networks, but said that Windows could not configure the wireless connection. It also said to look up an article in the Microsoft knowledge base. I did this (on a different computer, of coarse) and didn't really get anywhere with it. After some tinkering around, I finally found out that the knowledge base was telling me the right things, but in the wrong order. I now have to type %systemroot%\system32\services.msc /s into the run box, and then scroll down to Wireless Zero Configuration and then click start. From there I go back to the Wireless Network connection and click on "change advanced settings/wireless networks and then click on "use windows to configure my wireless network settings." I'm running out of room, I'll add more details.

i just got this fat baby
but each time i try to print colored pic/TXT it always appear black

My gramma is having problems with her computer. When started a black screen is displayed with the message "a problem with hard drive has been detected. consult the troublshooting section of your users manual. Press enter to continue." When I press enter, it goes to the Windows XP starting page and just sits there. I'm not computer savvy at all... I need detailed help!!

Okay, let’s see if I can explain this clearly enough. I have 2 excel files, one is just a master listing of some product codes (master listing). The other file is a listing of some of the product codes, along with quantities next to them (inventory listing). Now, what I’m trying to accomplish is to filter these two files together and still have my master listing, but with the product codes next to them. Something like this:

Master Listing file:
500251
500313
500452
500556
500617
500721

Inventory Listing file (42,214, and 7 are quantities):
500313 – 42
500556 – 214
500617 – 7

What I’m trying to accomplish is a spreadsheet that filters the data into the master listing, something like this:
500251
500313 – 42
500452
500556 – 214
500617 – 7
500721

BTW, The quantities are in a different cell than the product codes. I use excel a lot, but this is a little over my head. I’ve also attempted at MS Access, but I’m a serious noob for that program. Any advice? Thanks!

I cant find it in all programmes, where will i get it. We dont have a restore CD and cant find the 'factory settings restore' any where on the PC.

I have a Dell Latitude D520. It's a little over a year and a half old. I started noticing something strange going on with my battery... it would discharge normally to about 40% then drop down below 10% instantly. I figured I needed a new battery, so I bought one. The new battery is doing the exact same thing now. To better illustrate what I'm talking about, I logged the battery Discharge Rate, Remaining Capacity, and Voltage while I let it run from 100% charge down below 5% where the status was critical and Windows hibernated.

This is happening with the old battery as well as the brand new battery. As you can see in the graph, the Discharge rate was fairly constant... there's no spike there that would have drained the battery... the capacity just dropped like a rock, from about 40% to 10% then seems to resume normal operation from about 10 to 5%

Any ideas what's going on?

i have a Celeron M 1700mhz in my XP laptop. my dad has a Pentium M (not sure the speed) but its so slow. it takes at lease 5 min to boot, 5 min to login, and maybe 2 min. to load 1 program!! mine takes only 35 sec to boot 1.5 min to login, and 10-15 sec to load a program. (the 1st time) i have an 80GB HDD w 58.8GB free space, and he has a 60GB HDD w/ 200MB free space. we both have 512MB memory. which do you think is better? (overall)

PS. mine is a toshiba satellite A105-S2051 and his is a dell inspiron 9300.

PS. i plan to upgrade my memory to 2GB. i need help deciding which memory is best. if you would like to help, please answer my other question:
