Yes, DSL comes through your phone line.
I have DSL and basic phone service, and i pay about 30.00 monthly for both.

Yes, you need a phone line. This is not like cable interet service. Call you local phone company regarding any questions. Happy New Year!

It looks like a phone line but the plastic ends are bigger and yes it needs to be hooked up from the DSL box to your computer.
