The internal hard drive cannot be modified? I can't delete or add anything to it. It's causing a bunch of problems. Anyone know how to help?

I'm on a Mac OS x 10.2.8 and it says hard disk cannot be modified and I can't add anything to it. I'm trying to play a halo demo and I have to free up some space even though I haven't use half of it up! It's causing some real problems.

Never ran into this before. I'd say your Hard drive has failed to some extent.

Have you called MAC Tech Support?

Try reinstalling the MAC OS

sounds like you have quite a problem. On a Hard Drive there are partitions. Sometimes the seperate partitions can fail. Have you lost programs or data for no reason? Software you cant find? I would suggest you go into BIOS and check your drive, if all else fails try to reinstall your OS. If the hard drive is bad chances are you will not be able to reinstall the OS. But to be honest I would say take it to a shop if your not that familiar with your computers hardware. There is several things that can cause your problem and 90% of them require a professional.
