I personally dont count Floppies and CD roms as Electronic Media (Magnetic/Optical in my book (thats a figurative book by the way))

A kid I know claims their ISP contacted them to tell them that they noticed that they had downloaded (via torrents) the movie Cars and that they were illegally downloading media. His parents found out and uninstalled the torrent software. Is this common with ISP's??? Which ones are well known for this?

Xbox 360 codec?

I have recently downloaded a couple of xvid and avi files just tele programmes nothing illegel.

I have recently brought a 360 but alas cannot get these types of files to stream onto my plasma - any ideas i think what i need to do is put a codec onto the 360 but not sure how to do it, the files play perfectly on my laptop- so i'm confused. help

I have an application running on one computer (at work) and need to make sure that the same application runs on a new, second computer. I do not have the disks (they have been lost) so I have been told to clone the original machine. I see loads of software available to do this but a) will it work and b) is there a better way of accomplishing this? Thanks so much for your help!

My adobe is capturing pics off yahoo. when i open attachemnts that have come form friends with pics it opens in adobe. I see the pics form the friedns but in between is all these captured pics of yahoo pages in the history. I have visited a few adult sites and then saw some of those pics in tiny thumbnails show up in between my adobe slidshows of pics form friends. Any ideas how to fix this?

I have bought and fitted a new usb pci card (2.0) but it still cuts out. The broadband company I use said it was that the old ports couldn't handle the new 8 meg broadband. Its not the modem or the connection as it works fine on my laptop and the computer that has the problem was fine with 512k broadband from the same provider.

So I've had the same (updated) version of limewire for a while now but I only use it every once in a while. Usually it works fine, and I can download without any problem. But recently I can't seem to download anymore. It connects fine and gets results but when I try to double click, or hit the download button it doesn't even come up on the lower half of the screen..there is no response at all. I've tried reinstalling in twice, made sure it was new, and even downloaded older versions to see if that would help but it didn't. And I also clicked more than one file to make sure the other ones weren't corrupted. Does anyone know what's wrong with it and how I can fix it? I've scanned my comp for viruses but didn't find anything.

When I attempt to schedule a disk check via windows, I get the message that the scan will be completed during the next boot of the computer. The disk check utility comes up upon reboot, states a check has been scheduled, and begins the countdown to the start of the scan. However, once the countdown reaches zero, the screen displays a message stating that the disk check has been canceled and the Disk Check is exited. Could the solution to this problem be a simple change in the computer registry? Any other possible solutions?

My computer is only like 2 years old. The problem is that it takes 50 min. so it can be ready to go on the internet or to use it for anything else, my computer is Microsoft Windows XP (hp pavilion vx74) Im not good with computers... I have encrypted some files on an external Hard Drive while I was logged on as a user. Sometime later, I have deleted that user and created others. Now, I cannot access the files even though I tried creating the same user and password. I still don't have access to the files. Is there any way around it? I can see the certificate thumbprint but how to use it to resolve the access problem?

I transcoded a DVD into a MP4 file to put on my ipod, but the last 20 minutes of the movie is saved in a second file. I need to know how to merge the two together to have my complete movie under one MP4 file. Anyone?
