Xbox 360 codec?

I have recently downloaded a couple of xvid and avi files just tele programmes nothing illegel.

I have recently brought a 360 but alas cannot get these types of files to stream onto my plasma - any ideas i think what i need to do is put a codec onto the 360 but not sure how to do it, the files play perfectly on my laptop- so i'm confused. help

the xbox 360 does not come with DivX / XviD playback

there are ways around it through Windows Media Center Edition / Windows Vista

I think you may need the Xbox media centre software I believe it is open source. Try the link below It may help you in your search....Best of luck.
