So I've had the same (updated) version of limewire for a while now but I only use it every once in a while. Usually it works fine, and I can download without any problem. But recently I can't seem to download anymore. It connects fine and gets results but when I try to double click, or hit the download button it doesn't even come up on the lower half of the screen..there is no response at all. I've tried reinstalling in twice, made sure it was new, and even downloaded older versions to see if that would help but it didn't. And I also clicked more than one file to make sure the other ones weren't corrupted. Does anyone know what's wrong with it and how I can fix it? I've scanned my comp for viruses but didn't find anything.

Limewire requires a Java runtime environment. Go here for the latest:
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
uninstall any previous versh when the installation is complete and try LimeWire again...

Like most free download programs, Limewire is on its way to extinction. I've stopped using it because of all the corruptions from. It sucks but the best way to download music now is to pay for it.

Limewire always has problems...try Ares, its much better
