Windows XP Encryption?

Question

I have encrypted some files on an external Hard Drive while I was logged on as a user. Sometime later, I have deleted that user and created others. Now, I cannot access the files even though I tried creating the same user and password. I still don't have access to the files. Is there any way around it? I can see the certificate thumbprint but how to use it to resolve the access problem?

Hey Dude,

You are a crispy critter for this one. I have never been able to recover from something like this. I have not seen an article yet that explains this.
