I am a programming major, but I am only in my 2nd quarter. I haven't taken any specific classes for my major, just electives, so my knowledge of programming is pretty limited. For my Comm 3 class, I must write a memo report about a problem I may face as a programmer, and several solutions for that problem. Would any programmers mind telling me about a work-related problem they've had, a few different solutions, and the solution they used to solve the problem? Thanks so much!

My computer will begin playing it, but then it acts like it is skipping then it freezes up. The dvds will play in my friend's dvd player, but not in my computer. I know my computer works because I watch dvds on it all of the time, only certain dvds won't work. HELP!!!!! (please)

The issue is only with new dvds...if it is trouble with the copyright, how do I get around it?

My old Windows 98 wouldn't start - invalid system disk error. I have read many help articles on this, but most of them had a lot of technical terms I coudn't understand. I have a new pc now, but I'd still like the Windows 98 to work, I want to mess around with it.

Could anyone please tell me how to fix this error in plain, simple English?

Our local recycling doesn't accept foam pieces, such as the ones protecting computer monitors. Local shippers DO accept styro peanuts, but not these big chunks.

Anyone have ideas? I've looked on the net without much solution. I'm in Seattle, WA.
