They are many things you can do and have to do. First of its best that your computer have at least 512 Mb ram. It is not needed but if you already have it that then you now know it can be another problem. You can a free Virus from windows here http://safety.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm you also need to download more than one adware spyware tool ... this are the most well known ones, google them "adware lavasoft" "spyboy seek and destory" and "windows defender beta 2" they are all free and good. you can also use tune up at "http://www.tune-up.com/info/lp/tuneup-utilities/?ap=1646" its free for 30 days... still after that you also need to defragment your hard drive if you havent done this before its best to leave it over night! just click on start the all programs, accessories, system tools then disk defragmentor! and guess what you are still not done you more trick to try. Click on my computers then right C:drive go to properties , tools tab where is says error checking click on check now. a box will appear then check both of them and click on ok. Now restart your computer and let it run error checking. It will be awhile. after all this if it still crashes then its time to call a repair guy! all this will take you some hours to do so it best to start early

note make sure you windows is updated downlaod the latest windows media 11 and internet explorer 7 you can find them all at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/

Try downloading and/ or buying a good virus program. Atleast, if you have a virus, before your computer gets any worse.

go to control panel, then performance and maintenance.
you should then see something about defragmenting...run the test and your comp. will tell you if that is the problem. it just takes a few minutes to defrag.

try deleting some files that are not important or that you don't use...that will clear up some space for other things that you can do.
