My old Windows 98 wouldn't start - invalid system disk error. I have read many help articles on this, but most of them had a lot of technical terms I coudn't understand. I have a new pc now, but I'd still like the Windows 98 to work, I want to mess around with it.

Could anyone please tell me how to fix this error in plain, simple English?

Did you forget to remove something from a drive? This happens to me when I forget to remove a floppy or flashdrive.

When Windows loads, it looks first in A: before it goes to the hard drive.

Your computing device has failed to boot up from the boot sector. Your boot sector is screwed. try log in Safemode. Press F8 on a similar time as restarting and choose secure Mode. as quickly as you login, do a equipment fix. in case you won't be able to log in to this mode, then you definitely might desire to reinstall your domicile windows/fix boot sector utilising a domicile windows XP Installer Cd.
