I have 256MB of ram and My computer is slow like my startup, when i click on the start button it takes long to load it, and when I play my games it skips alot. Today I orderd 512Mb of ram in ebay so Ill have a total of 768MB of ram, Is all my problems that I had with the 256Mb of ram changing. Will I play my games smooth and is the start up going to be fast?

I know I have things on some of my floppy disks and i dont want to delete them but everytime I put one in it asks if I want to format it and I don't! I want to see whats on there... is there any way you can look at it without formatting it?

I have to have my speakers on as I am listening to music and this makes silly sounds when you are opening pictures and redoing them. Thanks.

it was shut down ilegally shutdown by my niece, when i open my computer it starts from Detecting IDE then a message appear ( sory for the inconvinience windows cannot start...

START WINDOWS NORMALLY
(countdown timer )
after the countdown timer ends WINDOWS XP appears as if it will start but it doesn't continue it will re-start again to
DETECTING IDE DRIVE
it will repeat over and over

I want to build a gaming computer-

But i dont know the first thing about putting them together, and what goes with what?

Can someone help me run through how to pick everything that i would like on this computer?

Sense this is going to be a gaming computer, and i will also need windows xp, i will need a highspeed inthernet port, and it must be a fast computer, i would like a big hard drive and im also on a low budget, if someone could please help me, i would love to build a computer!!!

it found 18 folders called My Pictures! I want to find the ORIGINAL 'My Pictures' folder (w/the little icon in the corner) and put it on my desktop or back in My Documents. It was originally in My Documents. I've moved my pictures around SO much, and I've accumlated way too many My Picture folders. I (hopefully) have all my pictures, images, etc. in Picasa (now). But .. I'd really like to have just ONE My Pictures file/folder to send everything too from my digital camera and for Picasa to export from. How can I find the ORGINAL file and either put it on my Desktop or back in My Documents. Any suggestions? Thank you all ahead of time.

Not sure of the process of copying a rented DVD onto a computer then putting it on a DVD to watch it on a T.V.. What software programs are good for this? Also, How do I copy downloaded movies from the internet (DivX, etc...) and put them onto DVD so I can watch them on my television?

I have a HP Pavilion lap top. Every time I open a window and it appears on the right side of my monitor screen I cannot close it or 1/4 of it still appears on that side of my monitor. How do I get these partial widows to "go away" for ever? I am 35 with a 7 year old son who knows more about computers than I do....please do not make me ask him for help :)
