i think but not quiet sure the are in the program files or the keyreg

Typically, the ones in the Add/Remove programs are the only ones you should remove, especially if it's windows XP. In some cases, if your go to Start/Programs and arrow over to the program you see, sometimes there is an uninstall there, but the one in Add/Remove really works better.

This is different than programs, when uninstalled, leave "residual" files. Norton is exceptionally notorious regarding this. Some times after uninstalling, you can go to Start/Run/Msconfig and you can turn residual files off by unclicking the box (usually their hidden in the registry). As far as I know, almost all computer files today should be installed and uninstalled properly. Older computers, like 95 and 98 may install slightly differently. Hope it helps.

Try "Add/Remove Windows Componants". Its in the same screen, the button is on the left side. Messenger is in there, and some other stuff too.

well you can access everything through the windows registery but if you dont know what you are doing you shouldnt mess with that.
