Not sure of the process of copying a rented DVD onto a computer then putting it on a DVD to watch it on a T.V.. What software programs are good for this? Also, How do I copy downloaded movies from the internet (DivX, etc...) and put them onto DVD so I can watch them on my television?

DVD Shrink alone cannot copy newer movies because there are new copy protection schemes.

This should get you started:

You can find a full DVD Burning Guide at the link below:
http://computer-tricks.blogspot.com/2006/07/burning-new-dvds.html

It includes screenshots, and links to download the 3 programs
you will need to burn DVD movies.

3 Programs used in the guide (download links are included):
DVDFab decrypter
DVD Shrink
Nero

Here is a full tutorial provided by me :)

Programs needed -
DVD DECRYPTER
DVD SHRINK 3.2

Download DVD Decrypter. Now put the dvd in your burner, use DVD decrypter to decrypt it, just pop it in and hit the decrypt button. It will save the files into a folder of your chocie. Now one it is done, take the dvd out, put in a blank one and use DVD Shrink 3.2. Open up DVD shrink and open the files you decrypted. It will analyse the files. Then hit back up and WA LA, you are burning a movie.

As for downloaded movies, just use nero, or depening on the forat you can use DVD shrink for those as well.

Hope this helps!

to copy a dvd rental etc u need 1 program dvdshrink
and a blank 4.3gb disk
http://www.dvdshrink.org/what.html

as for downloads thats more complex since the files would either need to be converted to .vob dvd format or for a master program to change it and write
i use winavi to convert almost all files to dvd format and then nero to burn with
if u goto http://www.videohelp.com and then tools or guides u can read tones of guides on how to make dvd's, format, styles etc

dvdshrink (it's free, and much better quality than the pay ones out there..)

keep in mind copying rented dvds is pirating, and illegal. :)
