just go to tigerdirect.com. they have a DIY section. If your on a small budget it's gonna be hard to build an extreme gaming computer. I priced one for myself with 500G of memory and a whole bunch of other stuff and it came to 2500 dollars, that wasnt including the monitor.

Your best bet is to get with other gamers who have built thier own. I could walk you though it, because I have done it before... but not through the whole process of buying the parts, ect.
Seriously, get with a friendly gamer who build thier own and ask for assistance. I wouldn't invest in classes or A+ certification just yet unless you know that building pc's is what you really want to do, and even then it is a certification, not hands on experience.

My pcs that I built for my children were not exactly gamer quality when I built each of them, but I was on a budget. You can always start with decent case and the best motherboard and processor you can afford. Then add additional memory and upgraded video and sound cards as finances allow.

Just a suggestion though.

you dont need certification to build a computer. i am a pre certified a+ and applecare tech. if you want something to game you can find everything you need at newegg.com. i built a good gaming machine for about 600.00 with shipping alot of gamers choose the amd processors cause they are good at gaming new egg has good bundles i beleive for about 100.00 you get the amd athalon 64 3400+ and the motherboard for the same price. if you want to game i recomend the athalon 64 fx processor but it runs a little expansive we have on the 3500+ and the 3800+ you can get a good PCI express Ati Radeon X1600 Pro with 256 of GDDR3 ram for a good price i also found 1gb of DDR ram for about 99.00 a 250gb SATA 3gb/s for about 79.00 so its all good i like the prices they have and they have excellent shipping and good reputation. www.newegg.com.. have fun

u need to enroll in a computer class, specifically A+ Certification PC Repair/Technician course - you have to start from getting to know the hardware basics and eveything before you get to the pc assembling - it's worth it if you are really interested:)

the best thing to do is build it piece by piece. if you really want one, i would be more than happy to help you (have build 3 to date, and my comp is well over 3 grand). putting them together is kinda like a puzzle except for a few things. just IM me or email me. good luck!

just a suggestion, but if you have no clue how to build one, it is going to be very hared to trouble shoot isssues you might have after you start using it. might not be worth the trouble as cheap as computers are today

There are many community colleges that have short classes in DIY computers.
