I am looking for a multifunction laser printer...need it to scan, print and copy....prefer one with a document feeder....would like to spend around $200 or so....I am thinking of a Brother 7420....what would you recommend?

I used the Hewlett Packard laserjet 1100 printer about 4 years ago and now I would like to use it with a new laptop I recently purchased. However within my set up, the paper falls to the floor after it is printed and it is very difficult to maneuver around to reach the paper after it falls. I do not remember the paper falling to the floor when i previously used it; is there a piece that I lost? Is there anything such as a tray I could purchase to prevent the paper from falling?

Hi I need the driver for the Lexmark 1270 for a system runnign Ubuntu (Linux). The printer is connected via usb and 'may' be shared over the network with a windows based pc. Is it possible that someone can make a script or write the driver?

Hi,

Lexmark has not yet released Vista drivers for my particular mdel of printer. Would anyone know an alternative way to fix this until one is released (printer that is similar with a vista driver, generic(plug and play driver).

I replaced both catridges on 7310 all in one and now i can't copy anything. I can receive faxes and ink is ok. is this problem a cartridge or is my all in one shot?? It is not hooked to my computer.

Some printer manufacturers make expiring ink cartridges. Many price their ink incredibly high, and then attack aftermarket ink manufacturers.

Do you know of any manufacturer who has reasonably priced ink, who is consumer friendly, and who doesn't attack competition with unjust lawsuits?

Also, a specific printer recommendation (for printing text documents with some color graphics -- not photos) would be great.

It must be Vista compatible and USB.

The following brands are off limits, for the reasons listed above: HP, Epson, Lexmark.

Since this question is pretty tough, I will be actively monitoring it and rewarding the person who gives the best answer.

My computer is an Emachine digital medial manager T6532 Desktop PC with 200 GB Hard Drive
1024 MB DDR SDRAM Dual Channel
My printer/scanner is a brother Model DCP-120c.

The problem is that since I have changed my ink cartridges it has slowed down considerably. It literaly takes 10 minutes or more to print off just half a page of words only. It was fine before. I have defraged my computer and cleaned up disk space and also have looked and have Plenty of disk space for my pritner. What could be the problem? I have searched for problems on the website for the brother website and they are not open until Monday and I have to wait until they email me for answers. I was hopeing for some good answers from some computer/printer engineers wizards from here. Thank you in advance for your kind answers.

I got a printer MFC-640CW it got a paper jam and i removed the paper but not it won't work properly it keep jumping on and off and on the LCD screen it says Please wait..Standard..then it clicks off then on again and repeats the same message over and over again..what is wrong with this picture? help..
