Hi I need the driver for the Lexmark 1270 for a system runnign Ubuntu (Linux). The printer is connected via usb and 'may' be shared over the network with a windows based pc. Is it possible that someone can make a script or write the driver?

It's an All-In-One, Linux drivers are hard to find.

Try choosing an older Lexmark printer in Ubuntu to see if you can at least the printer part to work.

You may also want to search for a linux utility called "ndiswrapper", it can convert many Windows drivers to run in Linux. It is a little Geeky though.

Have you checked linuxprinting.org ? http://www.linuxprinting.org

Most of the info you need will be there. Also check in synaptic for foomatic and cups drivers.
