ok..so ive been using a computer for quite some time now..and im still curious to know this.Why does my processor say its 2.8 GHz,but it reads 2.79 GHz?im looking for serious answers..im around so talk away

I mean in Australia it costs like $1600 and it doesnt even have a proper graphics card or dedicated graphic memory. It has a low end intel card instead that just shares with the main ram. Should I just go with like a Dell inspiron with vista instead? The main reason I'm leaning towards a PC is because they are generally cheaper. Macs look cool but!!! argghhh i cannot decide

I bought an HP Pavilion ze4800 about 3yrs ago and sent it from the US to Asia to sell it but somehow, the brand new computer's battery died on the way to there. When i got it back after 2 weeks and charged it, the icon shows that it was charging but after 7 hours, it still didnt work. It only works with the AC power connected. Any ideas?

Ok, soo my cousin helped me build my PC around a year ago, and he put in a motherboard with SLI capabilities, and now i want to take advantage of this... (nothing really went wrong with one...) but now i fried my graphics card >< from overuse i think... Word of Warcraft... one heck of a game, and soo i figured i could use a new graphics card anyways cuz i had a GeForce 6800 and thats pretty old. Anyway, I want to know if i can run two different graphics cards (from same company) on it or do the cards have to be the same.. i.e if i got a GeForce 8500 GT, and a 8600 GT, would that work. I have not bought new ones yet, but i found a (as in 1) 8500 for $60 (new) and a(as in 1) 8600 for $80 (new)

I followed the instructions on the HP website that said to just basically plug it in and let Vista automatically detect and install it, I did that. Everything is connected, and printer is ready to go, why is it not printing to my printer? It is not even giving me an error message saying that the print failed.
What am I doing wrong. It is an HP 845c printer.

I am pretty much a noob and want to get into high-end gaming. i got Unreal-Tournament III for a present and it runs slow as crap on my computer. i thought getting geforce 8600gt would be a good idea since its one of the best graphic cards out there. the only problem is that i dont know if i can just install it on my computer and expect it to work or if i need to upgrade other hardware on my computer. Right now it says im running windows vista home basic, AMD anthlon 64 X2 Dual core processor 3600+, 896 MB ram and nvidia geforce 6150E. please help

There is no "START" button, but when I hover over the area where it is supposed to be, there is an hourglass. The computer does not respond to "Ctl, Alt, Dlt" either. How can I at least get to the system recovery? (F10 doesn't work)

I am not vey computer literate. Im afraid to mess it up but I also cant afford to pay someone to do it. My current master drive is a 200GB...the one i found laying around was from a different computer. it is a 40GB..what is the easiest way to go about doing this...remember im not the greatest when it comes to installing hardware on my computer..I am running windows XP and I have all new updates for my OS...anybody know where i can find a website to help for a computer newbie like me??? or if you could help me out step by step. Before I ask please don't laugh and please don't tell me that the laptop is a dinosaur.
A frend of mine has given my son a laptop, it is a Toshiba780 and pentium 2. It has an internal modem (dial up) and runs windows 98. My question is that my son would like to use the laptop on broadband internet,is this possible? I know absolutely zilch about pc's and laptops, I hava a pc which is on Tiscali Broadband and would like to know if my son can have a modem fitted that enables broadband or ADSL or whatever it is that we use.

it says because of missing file..then it says you can attempt to fix this by repairing it with windows setup... so I did that, I ran windows setup from a windows xp installer..when i tried to repair it, it says "no hard disk detected, repair not done." what does this mean? when I tried to format it, it also indicated "no hard disk detected..." what could I do? what's wrong with my laptop? please help me. thanks a lot guys and gals.

As new ATi HD 3870 card are working with DX 10.1 is that a better choice i mean non of other card works with DX10.1 ....

about 3 weeks ago my Power Supply Unit(PSU) started making a disturbing noise... I ignored it planning on getting a new PSU as soon as i could. I wasn't having any problems except for having to always turn the pc on twice before it would boot up properly.

2 weeks ago i turned the PC off and then tried turning it on again a few hours later but nothing shoed up on the screen. There were a few clicks coming from the mobo as soon as i turn the power on which didn't used to happen. Everything else sounded like it was working properly, But its hard to tell what was happening without being able to see anything on the screen. The PSU was still grinding. It was a 500W.

Then 1 week ago i got my new PSU (500W) and installed it and everything was working fine. No clicks, no noise, nothing! I used it about 5 times over the last week with no problems.

Now this morning i tired turning it on and the clicks were back! it's def coming from the Motherboard. The new PSU is working fine-no noise.

help!
