Hello,

I have a standard CRT monitor from the manufacturer Hyundai. The brightness or Contrast or whatever seems to be messed up and everything is appearing much darker than it actually is. I tried playing around with the Monitors menu but to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Has anyone noticed the flickering nature of Televised computer screens on TV or other Motion Picture Viewers? Also, has it been noticed that TV screen motion pictures sometimes do not appear on developed polaroid (picture) outputs when snapped? Was wondering what causes it because I noticed it again yesterday.Destructive and constructive interfe bla bla?Oh Save me!

Grandkids were playing a game on my computer and the screen kept going black. When we finally cut the computer off the monitor wouldn't come back on. But when I hook up another monitor it will work.

I was giving my cat a bath last night, and as I was getting his towel, he escaped from my grasp, only to jump right up on my computer monitor, soaking wet. LOTS of water got inside for sure, and I unplugged it and turned it upside down overnight to drain. This morning i flipped it back over and plugged it back in and it turned on, but the picture is shaky and there are lines moving through it. Can it be fixed or would it be cheaper just to buy a new monitor?

I've got an older Dell laptop (Latitude CPx to be exact) and was wondering why part of my screen gets very warm when I'm using it. Just seems weird that this one specific area gets hot to the touch and no other part of the screen does.

If you bring up a blank white page on the internet, you can see where the hot spot is because it almost looks like a ripple effect (something close when a drop of water goes into a pool of water).

Could my screen be going bad and need to get a replacement?

I have a flat panel 17' viewable monitor in which the screen has been shaking/jittering in a side to side motion since installing Vista Premium to a partitioned hard-drive. I also have XP Pro on a different partition and I get none of this when it's in use.

The screen seems to stabilize in Vista as long as I am not moving the mouse to open a window, start a program, etc. I noticed also that Vista set my screen resolution to max (1280x1024) with the refresh rate at 60hz. In XP it's set at 1024x768 (60hz). I adjusted the setting somewhat in Vista to see if this would improve things, but the shakes/jitters are still there. I really don't know much about refresh rates and these monitor settings, or what ever it could be that's making this happen suddenly, so I hoping that someone here could advise on what to do.

My computer is a AMD 64x2, 2.2 ghz processor with 1gig of installed ram, and my graphics card is an Nvidia Gforce 6100, built into the motherboard utilizing 256megs of ram.

My old monitor did not have that bad of quality but it was only a 15" oldstyle television looking thing that you see in an old office.I upgraded to a flat panel 19" LCD Hanns-G but it seems my picture quality is worse.Nothin looks as smooth especially text.It all looks alittle more "Blocky".Do flat panels just have worse quality than non flat panels? Is it maybe the size increase?Or maybe just the old 24 bit video card.I cant even set my quality to over 24 bit in Display Properties. Thanks

Just got a fantastic 20" widescreen lcd and its fantastic set the res of it to its native of 1680x1050. Desktop and games look awesome. However I noticed since I did this web pages seem to always have large empty spaces on the left and right hand sides..they dont seem to be optimised for widescreen?
Is there an addon or plugin in Firefox that makes it all widescreen and fill the entire screen rather than just the middle?

My boss put his books on my keyboard then said "OOPS - I just screwed up your system" We've tried to resolve the problem but after 30 min. the picture is still upsidedown. I have an h/p compaq tower type system. There must be a keyboard 'shortcut' to do this. Would be a great joke to play on someone, but right now the JOKE IS ON ME. Thanks for the help.
